Learning from Students

For the past year, I have been working on a conference together with a group of students at my school that boasts a unique concept and that is "by students, for students" called TechLIFE 2013. This is a conference all about technology that is organized by students for students around the world. What makes this interesting though, is that this conference runs for 24 hours straight! It will hopefully be an interesting opportunity for students and will be packed with activities such as geocaching, workshops and a chance to meet tech "gurus" from companies like Google! As I am one of the head organizers, I have been involved a lot in the planning of this conference. Here is a bit of a background behind the conference;

Last year, a group of students (including me) visited Hong Kong to attend a conference called StuCon 2012 where students attended workshops put up by other students so as to share knowledge and make new friends. From there we were inspired to organize a conference similar to that at our school, which we named "TechLIFE". Here is just a video that highlighted our experience at StuCon:

TechLIFE 2013 essentially revolves around students presenting workshops to each other, meeting inspirational people and to further advance their interests in technology. Throughout the 24 hours, students will engage in many technological activities (as mentioned above) and hopefully learn more through the process. If you are interested, please go to our website here and gather a group of students and a teacher "coach" to guide and help you and register to attend the conference! Also, please pass this around to people you know anywhere around the world, the more attendees the better! See you there!
